UT Lady VolsGreenville, SC – #RV/NR Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team (21-9, 10-6 SEC), the No. 6 seed, will meet No. 3 seed and #16/18 Kentucky (21-7, 10-6 SEC) on Friday at approximately 7:15pm CT in the third round of the 2020 SEC Tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

The Lady Vols advanced to the third round by coming from 13 down to defeat No. 11 seed Missouri, 64-51, on Thursday night. UT now has won four straight games. The Lady Vols have come from behind 14 times in the 22 games they’ve trailed this season, and the 13-point deficit was the biggest they’ve erased to win this year and biggest since flipping the script on a 20-point, third-quarter hole vs. Stetson last year.

Tennessee Lady Vols takes on Mississippi State in next round of SEC Tournament action

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 8 seed Tennessee Lady Vols (19-11, 7-9 SEC) will meet No. 1 seed Mississippi State (27-2, 15-1 SEC) at noon on Friday in the quarterfinal round of the SEC Tournament.

Tip-off is slated for 11:02am CT at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC, for a contest that is being televised by the SEC Network and carried by the Lady Vol Radio Network and SiriusXM Radio. The winner of the UT-MSU game will advance to face the victor of Friday’s contest between No. 4 Kentucky and No. 5 Missouri at 4:00pm CT (ESPNU).

The Lady Vols survived and advanced by coming from seven down in the third quarter to defeat LSU, 69-66.

Tennessee Lady Vols face Alabama Crimson Tide in second round of SEC Tournament

UT Lady VolsGreenville, SC – The No. 5 seed Lady Vols (19-10, 10-6 SEC) are set to play No. 12 seed Alabama (18-12, 5-11 SEC) at approximately 1:30pm CT on Thursday in the second round of the SEC Tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

The game will be broadcast on SEC Network and will be available online through WatchESPN. Courtney Lyle (PxP), Tamika Catchings (Analyst) and Steffi Sorensen (Reporter) will describe the action for the SEC Network broadcast of Tennessee’s second-round game.

Fans can also tune into their local Lady Vol Network station to catch Mickey Dearstone describing the action.

Tennessee Lady Vols fall at Auburn Tigers, 79-61

UT Lady VolsAuburn, AL Mercedes Russell scored a career-high 26 points and logged her 11th double-double of the season as Tennessee fell to Auburn, 79-61, on Thursday at Auburn Arena.

Tennessee (11-7, 2-3 SEC) committed 22 turnovers in the loss. Auburn (14-5, 4-1 SEC) scored 33 points off turnovers and surged in the second and third quarters to take control of the game.

Russell was 11-of-14 from the floor and collected 11 rebounds. Diamond DeShields was close to pulling off a triple-double, finishing with 17 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Jaime Nared added 12 points.

UT Lady Vols win at Vanderbilt, 69-51

UT Lady VolsNashville, TN – Balanced scoring and a late fourth-quarter run sealed the 69-51 victory for the Lady Vols over Vanderbilt in Memorial Gym Thursday night.

Tennessee (15-9, 6-5 SEC) ended its five-game road losing streak, while Vanderbilt (15-9, 4-7 SEC) dropped its fourth consecutive contest.

Five Lady Vols scored in double figures, including a season-high 18 points from Jaime Nared. Diamond DeShields scored 12 and added nine rebounds. Mercedes Russell posted 11 points and grabbed eight boards. Te’a Cooper scored 11, while Bashaara Graves added 10 points.

Andraya Carter changed the direction of the game with the scoop and score that put the Lady Vols up 10 at the 3:55 mark in the fourth quarter. Carter’s bucket began a 17-5 Tennessee run to end the game.
