From the SidelineMurfreesboro, TN – Clarksville High School Girl’s Basketball takes on Science Hill in a Class AAA State Basketball Tournament semifinal game at 2:30pm in Middle Tennessee State University’s Murphy Center.

Both teams come into today’s game with identical 37-0 records.

The Lady Wildcats, are seeking their first state championship and beat Memphis Central (24-8), the defending state champion, 64-48 Thursday, a team that beat Clarksville High in the quarterfinals two years ago.

“From the Sideline” to debut on WJZM 1400 AM on Monday

 

WJZM, 1400AM Radio StationClarksville, TN – A brand new sports-talk show, focusing on Clarksville area sports is set to debut Monday afternoon, exclusively on WJZM 1400 AM, and WJZM.COM.  “From the Sideline” with James Horne and Wade Neely will air weekdays, 3:00pm-6:00pm on Clarksville’s only news-talk-sports radio station, part of the new Clarksville Sports Network.

“We saw a great opportunity to provide Clarksville with the most extensive coverage of area sports with the Clarksville Sports Network” said Hank Bonecutter, president of Cumberland Radio Partners, and owner of WJZM. “We will have a daily talk show, a new website, at www.clarksvillesportsnetwork.com, photos, videos and more in 2012. James and Wade, along with photo-journalist Cidnie Brewington will have non-stop coverage of the Clarksville/Fort Campbell sports scene” said Bonecutter.”

Sydney-Brewington joins Clarksville Sports Network, WJZM and Clarksville Online as photo-journalist

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Cidnie Sydney-Brewington has joined the Clarksville Sports Network as a photo-journalist, joining James D. Horne and Wade Neely. Sydney-Brewington will be responsible for capturing Clarksville’s sporting events on camera.

“As a Clarksville native, I am excited to be a part of the Clarksville Sports Network, covering the Clarksville sports scene, having an opportunity for my camera and me to be more involved in that world,” said Sydney-Brewington.

The Clarksville Sports Network is a new media venture created by Bonehead Promotions, whose media company includes WJZM 1400 AM, Clarksville Online and the soon to be launched, ClarksvilleSportsNetwork.com. It will provide the area’s most extensive coverage of Clarksville area sports including radio play-by-play, a new talk show and a digital platform. James D. Austin Peay State University Lady Govs Basketball falls to Florida A&M 86-77

Clarksville, TN – Finding itself facing another double-digit halftime deficit, the Austin Peay women’s basketball team never panicked.

Unfortunately for APSU, however, neither did Florida A&M.

Despite a furious comeback, the Lady Govs were unable to withstand 13 made 3-pointers, falling to the Lady Rattlers 86-77 in the Dunn Center Tuesday.

Wade Neely joins Clarksville Sports Network

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Wade Neely has joined WJZM radio to  join the Clarksville Sports Network in 2012.  Neely comes to WJZM after 21 months as the Sports Director of WKSR AM-FM in Pulaski, Tennessee. Neely was hired, after a nationwide search, to join former Leaf Chronicle sports writer, James Horne, in launching a new sports show on 1400 WJZM, “From the Sideline,” weekday afternoons, 3:00pm-6:00pm. Neely will also be a staff writer for ClarksvilleSportsNetwork.com, expected to be online  in 2012.
