Knoxville, TN – The Tennessee Lady Vols (17-8, 6-6 SEC) is back on the road to take on No. 21/22 Texas A&M (19-6, 8-4 SEC) on Thursday night in College Station, Texas. Tip-off is slated for 8:02pm CT (9:02pm ET) at Reed Arena in a contest that is being carried by the SEC Network.
Including this match-up, the Tennessee Lady Vols have four contests remaining during the regular season. Two are at home (No. 13/13 South Carolina, Vanderbilt) and two are away (No. 21/22 Texas A&M, Ole Miss). UT is closing out a five-game stint where it has played four of those five contests on the road. UT is 2-1 on the road and 1-0 at home during that stretch.

Malibu, CA – Lidia Yanes Garcia, of Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s tennis team, fell in the first round of the Oracle ITA Masters, Thursday, September 20th at Pepperdine University.
Yanes Garcia teamed up with Belmont’s Hendrik Inno in the mixed doubles competition, but narrowly fell (6-4) to Michaela Bayerlova (Washington State) and Sven Lah (Baylor).
Nashville, TN – Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson has had three offseasons to mold the roster to his liking and can point to tangible evidence of progress. After being named to his current post in January 2016, the team tripled its win total from 2015, going from three wins to nine wins and earning him the additional title from Amy Adams Strunk of executive vice president.
Her confidence was rewarded in 2017, when the Titans earned their first postseason berth since the 2008 season and won their first postseason game since the 2003 campaign.

Knoxville, TN – Tennessee breaks from conference play and closes out its three-game homestand when it hosts Kansas State on Saturday as part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge Presented by Sonic. Tipoff is at 1:00pm CT on ESPN2.
Saturday’s game marks the second time in three seasons that Tennessee (11-9, 4-4 SEC) has faced Kansas State (15-5, 4-4 Big 12) in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The Wildcats visited Knoxville as part of the cross-conference showcase in 2014, with the Vols claiming a narrow 65-64 victory in that contest.
UT is 1-1 all-time in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge after falling at TCU last season.
Former media executive joins team at City Hall
Clarksville, TN – Richard V. Stevens, an award-winning media professional and community leader, has been named communications director for the City of Clarksville, Mayor Kim McMillan announced Thursday.
“Richard brings a wealth of communications experience and deep knowledge of our community, and I’m sure he will be a strong contributor to our work at City Hall,” McMillan said.

Lubbock, TX – Junior Alex Robles, of the Austin Peay State University baseball team, has been named one of 24 collegiate players on the 2016 John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Watch List.
Robles, of Tucson, Arizona, landed on the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason All-OVC First Team as both a starting pitcher and utility player, and has lived up to the billing in 2016.

Knoxville, TN – The Tennessee Lady Vols (16-11, 7-7 SEC) will play their final road game of the season as they look to sweep Alabama (14-13, 3-11 SEC) . Tipoff is slated for 7:30pm CT/8:30pm ET at Foster Auditorium and the game will be available on SEC Network + (Online) and WatchESPN.
Additionally the game will also be a part of SEC Network’s Whip-Around coverage. The multi-game TV coverage will alternate between the seven games being played, 7:00pm-11:00pm ET.

Knoxville, TN – Tennessee heads to the West Coast for the first time in six years when it takes on Gonzaga in the annual Battle in Seattle on Saturday night. The Vols and Bulldogs tip off at 11:00pm ET (10:00pm CT) on ESPNU.
The cross-country trip comes on the heels of an 81-62 win for Tennessee (5-4) over Florida Atlantic on Wednesday night. The victory snapped a three-game skid for the Volunteers and improved their home record to a perfect 5-0. UT is still seeking its first win away from Knoxville under head coach Rick Barnes — an ailment it will seek to remedy as it makes only its second-ever appearance in the Emerald City.
Clarksville, TN – For the second time in just over two years it looks like the search for a new Austin Peay State University athletics director is coming to a close, with the announcement by the University that it was narrowed the search to four candidates.

Columbia, MO – It took senior Austin Peay State University golfer Dustin Korte 3 ¾ years to capture his first medalist honor, that coming at Memphis, March 25th-26th. Now Korte has two victories in the last three weeks.
