National Weather Service reports Wintry Weather possible for Clarksville-Montgomery County Sunday morning


National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service says a wintry weather is possible Sunday morning and likely Sunday night and Monday morning for Clarksville-Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee.

As unusually cold weather continues across the region, an approaching low pressure system will bring the potential for wintry weather. The first chance for wintry weather will move in early Sunday morning.

This precipitation is expected to be in the form of light sleet but should present no travel problems. Warmer air will bring a change to all rain for the daytime Sunday.

Tennessee State Natural Areas Program Offers Two Mid-Winter Hikes in Middle Tennessee on January 26th


Tennessee State ParksNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s Division of Natural Areas will host two guided day hikes at Middle Tennessee natural areas on Saturday, January 26th, including excursions to Short Springs State Natural Area in Coffee County and Virgin Falls State Natural Area in White County.

Fort Donelson National Battlefield gets new Superintendent, Brian McCutchen

Atlanta, GA – Brian Keith McCutchen took over responsibility as the new superintendent of Fort Donelson National Battlefield on October 21st. He most recently served as superintendent of the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park, in Vincennes, IN.

“We are very pleased that Brian is joining the Southeast Region family,” said David Vela, Southeast Regional Director. “He has a diverse record of professional experience in many of our historic parks. He is an avid student of American military history.  That and his prior experiences as superintendent in two other parks will serve him and the Fort Donelson community very well.”
