Fort Campbell, KY – As soldiers left the plane they filed in a single file line to shake hands with the wounded soldiers who had been there to greet them home. There were lots of hugs and hand shakes along the line.
As the huge hanger doors opened wide, the wounded soldiers lead them inside for the official Welcome Home Ceremony.
Once inside the hanger Brigadier General Jeffrey N. Colt welcomed everyone home in a short speech to the soldiers. Afterwards everyone was allowed 15 minutes of family time before heading back to their unit to turn in their gear.
Macey Canfield was waiting on her husband SGT Leanin Canfiled along with her Uncle Jim Kowal and his wife Daisy Kowal, Talia Kowal and Aunt Doris Tejada. SGT Canfield is looking forward to some relaxation time for now and maybe a vacation in July.

If you wish to attend a Welcome Home Ceremony, check the flight schedules online, as times are subject to change at any time. When arriving to Fort Campbell, enter via Gate 7; if you don’t have installation stickers on your vehicle, you will be required to get a visitor pass.
