Titans Host 10th Annual High School Coaches Clinic June 21st

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Titans Head Coach Mike Munchak and his staff will host the 10th Annual Titans High School Coaching Clinic on Tuesday, June 21st at Baptist Sports Park.

A new twist for this year’s clinic is that participating coaches will have the opportunity to submit in advance the topics they would like to have addressed during the clinic.  Coaches may submit suggestions at the time they register for the clinic and Munchak and his staff will review those suggestions and incorporate some of the requested material into the sessions.

“I’ve participated in all of our previous clinics as a position coach and most of my staff members have done similar clinics over the years,” said Munchak. “I thought it would be a good twist to let the attendees help set the agenda of topics we cover, responding to what is currently important to them.”

In addition to opening comments from Munchak, sessions will be conducted by defensive coordinator Jerry Gray and offensive coordinator Chris Palmer.  Veteran assistant coach Alan Lowry will address special teams and each of the position coaches will conduct smaller break-out sessions in their respective classrooms.

Steve Watterson (Assistant Head Coach/Strength & Conditioning) will address the importance of proper conditioning and Head Athletic Trainer Brad Brown will review the latest information regarding hydration and other safety issues.

Once the classroom sessions are complete, the action moves outdoors where the position coaches will provide instructions on specific drills and techniques.

Check-in for the clinic will begin at 10:00am at Baptist Sports Park with the clinic set to begin at 11:00am.

In the event that the current labor issue is resolved by the date of the clinic, there is a possibility that the Titans will be on the field for an OTA day and clinic guests will observe those activities.  Following the completion of the OTA, lunch will be served before the clinic gets underway that afternoon.

Registration fee for the clinic is $30.00, which includes continental breakfast, lunch and clinic shirt. Space is limited to 125 high school coaches.
