CSS to telecast all games from Atlanta Division I Baseball Regional

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – All games in the 2011 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship’s Atlanta Regional will be telecast by CSS, the regional sports channel focused on college sports throughout the south,

As a result, each Austin Peay game played in the regional, that will run Friday-Monday, will be telecast.

That was announced Wednesday morning.  The regional, to be held at Georgia Tech’s Russ Chandler Stadium, includes four southern teams – Austin Peay (33-22), Georgia Tech (40-19), Mississippi State (34-23) and Southern Miss (39-17).

Austin Peay’s first televised action will be 6:00pm (CDT), Friday against Georgia Tech, the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season co-champion Georgia Tech and currently ranked 14th nationally. The Governors, the OVC’s regular-season and tournament champion, have won 15 of their last 18 games entering the tournament.

Mississippi State returns to the tournament for the first time since their College World Series run in 2007. They will meet Southern Miss, which returns for the second time in three years to the tournament after winning the Atlanta regional in 2009 on its run to their first ever College World Series.

Georgia Tech is one of 16 regional tournament sites. Each regional features four teams and is played in a double-elimination format.

Game 4: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2, 7:00pm ET

Sunday, June 5th

Game 5: Winner of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4, 3:00pm ET

Game 6: Winner of Game 4 vs. Winner of Game 5, 7:00pm ET

This is the 12th consecutive year CSS has broadcast an NCAA regional and the second consecutive year of Atlanta Regional coverage.
