This week, the Clarksville community came together for a cause. This week, you gave your time and money to help people you will never know. Comedy on the Cumberland was held this week, and a packed house enjoyed some of the funniest stand up comedians in the country at the Roxy Theater.
The Salvation Army received ALL of the ticket proceeds. At a time when they needed us the most, Clarksville responded. On behalf of Bonehead Promotions, and all of our sponsors, we are grateful for your generosity.
Comedy on the Cumberland was created to bring a new and different event to Clarksville, with the sole purpose of helping a different charity with each show. This year, we focus on hunger.
The Salvation Army serves meals everyday to people who have nowhere else to go, and have no one else available to help them. Can you imagine not knowing where you will sleep tonight? Can you imagine not knowing where your next meal will come from? The Salvation Army serves over 830,000 people per week across this country. Right here in Clarksville, the local mission is packed everyday.
It’s refreshing to know that this community will find the time and money to help those less fortunate. So, on behalf of F&M bank, Wendys of Clarksville, Wyatt Johnson, and Coleman Tractor co., we thank everybody for supporting Comedy on the Cumberland. We thank the Roxy Theater, Clarksville Online, Ad One Advertising, CDE lightband and all of you who supported us in “Using laughter to change our community.”
