Austin Peay Football Governor Barker to play for South team in FCS Scout Senior Bowl

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – James Barker has spent much of this weekend at Myrtle Beach, although he is not there to enjoy those sandy beaches.

Instead Barker, Austin Peay State University football’s senior 6-4, 305-pound offensive tackle, will be suiting up to play football one more time when he plays for the South Team, 1:00pm, (CT), Saturday, in the FCS Senior Scout Bowl, to be played at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach, SC.

This is the second year for the bowl game, the brainchild of co-founder Peter St. Laurence to showcase talent from the 124 FCS programs.

Barker, who started three seasons on APSU’s offensive line, is one of three players from the Ohio Valley Conference competing for the south team against the North, joining Murray State running back Mike Harris, Jacksonville State linebacker Rodney Garrot.

The game is being telecast live on HTC Cable Channel 4 in the Myrtle Beach area but also can be watched online at www.HTCNetTRacer.net.
