Clarksville Police wants the Public to be Aware of Suspicious Activity

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department wants to make the public aware of an incident which occurred on March 26th, 2012, around 2:30pm.

Clarksville Police responded to a call from a resident at the 400 Block of Newman who believed that a man was trying to abduct his nine year old daughter. The man’s nine year old daughter told him she was playing in the front yard when a man stopped in a white car and asked her if she knew where an address was located.

When the child walked toward the stranger’s car, he opened the driver’s door. At that time, a neighbor came out of his house and told the nine year old to be careful because she was in the road.

Upon seeing the neighbor, the car immediately left. The nine year old said the man did not try to talk to her into getting in the vehicle or touch her. Police were called about a half hour later.

The man who approached the nine year old was a white male, wearing glasses, grey shirt, blue jeans, hair – short or balding and driving an older model vehicle, possibly a Buick.

Once again, we wanted to make you aware of the incident that occurred and ask that you call 911 immediately if you see any sort of suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
