Clarksville Department of Electricity reports afternoon Storms caused Power Outages in the area

Clarksville Department of ElectricityClarksville, TN – Storms that moved through Clarksville this afternoon were the cause of power outages that affected approximately 7,000 customers in various part of town.

Customers began reporting outages to CDE at approximately 4:45pm. High winds brought down tree limbs, with many taking power lines and poles down with them.

As of 8:45pm, power had been restored to approximately 4,000 customers. The bulk of the remaining 3,000 still without power include the following areas: Memorial Drive, Georgetown Road, Craigmont, Allenwood Drive, Ussery Road., West Park Drive, Clearview Drive, Ashland City Road, (41A Bypass), Madison Street from Memorial Drive to Lois Lane, Fairway Drive, Glendale Drive, Baltimore Drive, Beacon Drive, and Gratton Road.

Scattered outages have also been reported in other areas not listed. Crews will work through the night restore power to all areas affected.

If you see trees on lines or power lines down, please stay away, keep others away and report them to CDE at 931.648.8151.
