Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University has announced its home-opening football game against Eastern Illinois has been moved from Saturday, October 12th, to 6:00pm, Thursday, October 10th.

They open the previous weekend at defending OVC champ Eastern Kentucky. That marks the final game of a difficult stretch of five straight road games—with a bye week (September 28th) sandwiched in—to open the season.
“Eastern Illinois did us a favor by agreeing to move our game to Thursday,” Cannon said. “It creates a situation where we play short on practice going into that game. But felt like we needed a home game that our students could easily attend. With the (fall break) holiday on that Friday from school, the Thursday night match up has a great chance to be well attended and give us the support that we will want and need after being on the road for five straight weeks.”
