Morehead, KY – Austin Peay State University men’s cross-country team placed ninth at the 2013 Ohio Valley Conference Championships, hosted by Morehead State at Eagle Trace Golf Course.

Close behind Rejman were freshmen Daniel Hamm (26:52.84, 48th) and Hunter Guthrie (26:59.72, 50th). Guthrie’s mark was his first 8K sub-27 minute time as a Governor.
Rounding out the top-five scorers for Austin Peay were freshmen Kyle Harmon (27:42.84, 61st) and Alex Haycraft (29:12.29, 75th). Freshman Nathan Sparks (29:28.39, 78th) and senior Tyler Kepley (30:46.72, 85th) also scored points for the Govs.
“It’s about what we expected for the men’s team,” said head coach Doug Molnar. “As muddy as it was and as tough as the footing was, I think it was a great learning experience for the guys. We’ll get better and better as we go on.”
Eastern Kentucky won its eighth straight men’s championship, and it’s 22nd overall, with a team score of 16. Belmont (74 points) and host Morehead State (81) were close behind, while Eastern Illinois (107) and Southeast Missouri (122) rounded out the top five. SIU Edwardsville (153), UT Martin (226) and Murray State (251) finished ahead of the Govs, who tied with Jacksonville State (258). Tennessee Tech (278) and Tennessee State (377) rounded out the field.
The Govs return to action at the November 15th NCAA South Regional in Tuscaloosa, AL.
