Clarksville Police neutralize Student Threat to Kenwood High School

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Last night, January 30th, 2014, at 8:52pm, the Clarksville Police Department received an anonymous phone call reporting that a Kenwood High School student had planned to bring a gun to school.

The caller stated that the suspected student had a note indicating his plan to go to school and injure students. The CPD made contact with the suspected student and his father and the caller’s report was confirmed.

The student admitted to planning the shooting and produced the note that indicated his plans. Also, he had access to a weapon and ammunition.

Due to the anonymous caller’s detailed information and the CPD Officers recognizing the seriousness of this threat, the threat has been neutralized and the student has been detained.

Also, the cooperation with Kenwood High School personnel, the SRO, and other agencies involved was critical to the investigation. The CPD is making steps to provide further security with extra Patrol Officers at the school, even though the threat has been neutralized.

This incident is still under investigation. There is no further information at this time.
