Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team saw its two-match winning streak snapped in a 7-0 loss to Murray State, Tuesday, at the APSU Tennis Center.
Senior Andra Cornea was the only Lady Gov to force a third set Tuesday. She won the opening set Carla Suga at No. 2 singles 6-3, but dropped the next two 4-6, 4-10. Including the fall campaign, Cornea is now 4-2 in a team-high six three-set matches this season. It’s her second straight three-set loss to Murray State.
The Lady Govs have to bounce back quickly with a big conference weekend looming. Austin Peay hosts Eastern Illinois, 10:00am, March 29th, before facing SIU Edwardsville in a Senior Day tilt 1:00pm, March 30th.
