Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team opened the 2014-15 early signing period, Wednesday, by adding to its middle infield with shortstop Kendall Vedder of Palmetto, FL being added to the fold.

She drove in 22 runs and scored 22 and had a .453 on-base percentage.
“I made the decision in June,” said Vedder, in an interview with the Bradenton Herald. “But I knew the second I walked on campus it was the place for me. I loved the coaches, the people there and the area, everything was just perfect.
“Definitely a lot of weight off the shoulders. Now I can just go out there and play and have fun. I’m still going to play my best, but mostly have fun and just get it done.”
Vedder has been a starter since her freshman year, earning honorable mention all-area honors as a freshman and sophomore, with her team winning the 6-A district title as a sophomore and finishing runner-up in Region 12.
She is also a standout in the class room, carrying a 4.4 grade-point average, while being named to the National Honor Society and all-area academic team while earning an academic letter.
