(APSU Sports Information) She pulled down seven rebounds and went 9-for-17 from the floor, while Arielle Gonzalez-Varner pulled down a career high 12 rebounds, including eight offensive rebounds that the Govs converted into eight points. The Governors’ win halted a two-game skid behind 24 points in the paint and 24 points from the bench. The Govs also shot 50.0 percent from the floor to close out the fourth quarter behind Alexander’s 12 points, holding Southeast Missouri to 1-12 from the floor in the final period.
The Govs will have to fend off the offensive pressure of Ke’Shunan James and Bria Bethea, who are averaging 20.3 and 16.0 points per game respectively. The Racers are 4-8 in conference, in need of a win to make a postseason push. APSU Storylines
