Clarksville’s Fort Defiance Civil War Park offers story time, tea time

History comes alive at Clarksville’s Civil War Park

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Visit Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center for two new opportunities to learn during the month of March.

A new program, Fort Defiance Story Time will be from 10:00am-11:00am on Tuesday, March 13th, 2018.

Parents can bring their little ones for a historically themed story followed by a craft and games.

Another new event, Suffragist History Tea, will be featured at 1:00pm Saturday, March 17th at the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center. Brenda Harper, vice president of the Montgomery County Historical Society, will host a presentation of biographies of historic women from Clarksville who were active in the women’s suffrage movement in the early 20th Century.

Visitors will be treated to a period correct “tea time” along with cookies and cakes as they enjoy the presentation. No online or pre-registration is required. This program is free and open to all ages.
