Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink
Clarksville, TN – Several people come together to sponsor the return of the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink.
On Wednesday, November 21st, 2018 Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink sponsors gathered to unveil new elements of the ice-skating operations.
In addition to the ice rink being 49% larger than last year, F&M Bank returns as the Winter Ice Rink Title Sponsor with a custom mural wall that was painted by Clarksville Academy students.
“The F&M Bank mural wall is a great place for people to take pictures that will commemorate their time on the ice,” stated Paula Atkins Downtown Commons Event Manager.
“Our hope is that people will post their pictures on social media and tag the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink,” she continued.
Another new addition this year is the bright green Skate Shack sponsored and painted by Servpro of Montgomery County. The Skate Shack is where skaters will pick up and return their skates and helmets.
Both the mural and the Skate Shack were painted with material donated by Lowes on Madison Street through a partnership with Store Manager Nathan Clark and Steve Butler of Valspar Paints.
“Without partnerships with F&M Bank, Servpro, Clarksville Academy, Lowes, and Valspar these new features would not have been possible,” added Norman Quirion.
The Downtown Commons Winter Ice rink is scheduled to run November 23rd, 2018 through January 21st, 2019 and will be open on November 24th from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.
Regular operating hours will be Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00pm to 9:30pm, Saturdays from 10:00am to 9:30pm, and Sundays from 2:00pm to 9:30pm. Hours will vary on holidays and during school breaks and special events.
Tickets are $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under 12, for government employees, and for APSU students. Private party rentals are also available. While at the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink don’t forget to check Golly G’s newest location.
