Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds drop doubleheader to Round Rock Express Monday afternoon at First Tennessee Park. The Express got a dominant performance from pitcher Cy Sneed to earn a 2-0 win in game one and got a clutch two-run double from Anibal Sierra to help grab game two, 8-4.
Game one of the doubleheader was a continuation of the suspended contest between the two teams on April 18th. Nashville reliever Tim Dillard put forth a tremendous effort with seven innings in relief, but the offense went silent with only two hits.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds scored 10 unanswered runs in front of a sellout crowd of 10,068 and split the series against the Memphis Redbirds with a hard-fought 10-6 win Friday night at First Tennessee Park.
Adam Moore led the charge with a two-run triple in the third inning and a bases-clearing double in the seventh. The Sounds’ catcher had 5 RBI in the game – the most by a Sounds player in a single game in 2019.
Wes Benjamin got the ball for Nashville and cruised through a 1-2-3 first inning but trouble hit in the second. After Andrew Knizner singled to start the frame, Benjamin got a ground ball that may have been a double play but it was misplayed and all runners were safe for the Redbirds.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds beat the Memphis Redbirds 8-5 in front of 10,442 fans to give Sounds Manager Jason Wood his 600th career win in professional baseball. Zack Granite hit a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth to break a 4-4 tie to win the game for Nashville.
The Redbirds scored in the top of the first when Drew Robinson hit a double and scored on a single by Andrew Knizner to put Memphis up 1-0. Robinson would extend the Memphis lead 2-0 on a solo home run in the top of the third inning.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds offense went cold at home in 4-2 loss to the Memphis Redbirds in front of 6,806 fans and 182 dogs Tuesday night at First Tennessee Park.
Nashville’s offense was red hot on the road only to come up short at home with four hits in the homestand opener against the Redbirds. Hunter Cole had two of the hits and Zack Granite and Adam Moore each had one.
Three of the hits came in the third inning when Cole started the frame with a single, Moore followed with a base hit to left, and Granite’s perfectly placed two-out bunt single drove in Cole from third to give the Sounds a 1-0 lead.
Round Rock, TX – The Nashville Sounds came back from three runs down in the ninth to beat Round Rock Express, 9-7. Patrick Wisdom and Hunter Cole both homered in the ninth to help score five runs to win the game.
Kyle Tucker would get things going for the Express after hitting an RBI triple to give Round Rock the early 1-0 lead after the second inning.
Nashville responded immediately in the top of the third when Delino DeShields hit a two-run double to give the Sounds a 2-1 lead.
Round Rock, TX – In a game that was mostly in Nashville’s control, a four-run Round Rock inning in the eighth completed a five-run comeback as the Sounds lose to the Express 8-6.
Round Rock started with a bang in the bottom of the first when Myles Straw led off with a triple. Next up, Derek Fisher hit him in with a single and Round Rock took the early 1-0 lead.
Nashville then had a huge inning in second. Matt Davidson and Danny Santana started by walking followed by a single by Andy Ibanez to load the bases with no outs.

El Paso, TX – The Nashville Sounds (68-58) came up short of a series win Friday night at Southwest University Park, losing 7-3 in the series finale against the El Paso Chihuahuas, whose five-run seventh inning was too much for Nashville to overcome.
Leading 3-2 at the stretch, the Sounds ran into trouble in the home half of the seventh inning, when the Chihuahuas sent nine batters to the plate for five runs on seven hits.

First-Place Nashville Matches Season High For Runs Scored
El Paso, TX – First baseman Matt Clark belted a pair of home runs to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 13-3 rout over El Paso on Wednesday evening at Southwest University Park.
Nashville (67-57), which matched a season high with its 13 runs on the night, retained its half-game division lead over cross-state rival Memphis, which won in Albuquerque.
The teams combined for six home runs and 12 extra-base hits on the evening.

El Paso, TX – The Nashville Sounds opened their road trip on the short end of an 8-2 loss to El Paso on Tuesday evening at Southwest University Park.
The defeat snapped the Sounds’ four-game winning streak. Nashville (66-57) had its division lead cut to just a half-game over cross-state rival Memphis, which won in Albuquerque.
First baseman Matt Clark homered during his 2-for-4 evening, the lone multi-hit effort for Nashville.
Nashville Records Fourth Win In Last Five Games
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds continued their recent winning ways on Wednesday evening at Greer Stadium, hanging a 5-4 defeat on the division-rival Omaha Storm Chasers.
Nashville (23-41) recorded its fourth win in the past five contests and its sixth victory in the last nine.
Jimmy Nelson made his second Triple-A start for the Sounds and battled with control issues, walking six batters and striking out five in 3 2/3 innings while throwing only 40 of his 84 pitches for strikes. He allowed three runs on five hits and took a no-decision.
