The Johnston, Iowa native earned her conference-record 16th Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week honor after posting 134 assists (13.4 per set) and piloting the Govs to a .219 attack percentage at the Blue Raider Bash last weekend. In pushing the Govs to 6-0 on the season—the program’s best start since 1986—to earn her second all-tournament honor in as many weekends.

APSU Athlete of the Week Morgan RackelAPSU Sports Information
Rackel handled her first week as a Governor with aplomb, throwing two complete games in the circle and hitting .300 for the week. In her debut, the Calgary native tossed a complete-game against Georgia Southern, scattering six hits and striking out eight and aiding her own cause with a solo home run in the fourth inning.

Austin Peay Basketball’s Averyl Ugba named APSU Athlete of the WeekAPSU Sports Information
For the third time this season, Ugba snared not only adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week but Player of the Week as well, putting on a show by averaging 28.0 ppg and 12.5 rpg in victories against UT Martin and Southeast Missouri last week. Against UT Martin, Ugba led all scorers with 28 points and a career-best 17 rebounds, tied for second-most in a single game this season among OVC players.

Savannah Amato named APSU Athlete of the WeekAPSU Sports Information
Amato’s school-record 4.15m (13-7.25) mark at the Samford Open not only won the event handily and kept her atop the Ohio Valley Conference lists in the pole vault, it moved her into a tie for 15th in the nation. For her efforts, the Delaware, Ohio native was named the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week, Wednesday, her first weekly honor this season and the third indoor honor of her Austin Peay career.

APSU Athlete of the Week Terry TaylorAPSU Sports Information
Taylor poured in a career-high 30 points—his first career 30-point outing and the first by an Austin Peay freshman since 1999 (Nick Stapleton, Middle Tennessee) against Evansville, Saturday. He hit 12-of-17 from the floor, collecting six rebounds and blocking a career-best three shots as the Govs took the Purple Aces into overtime.

Dayton Gumm named APSU Athlete of the WeekAPSU Sports Information
The Bowling Green, Kentucky native earned adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Freshman of the Week honors after pacing the Govs with a game-high 23 points in his first career start, an 86-61 thrashing of Miami University at the Austin Peay Dunn Center.

APSU Athlete of the Week Brooke MooreAPSU Sports Information
The Louisville native led Austin Peay to its first Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title since 2010, leading the tournament with 48 kills and posting a .305 attack percentage in contests against Southeast Missouri, Eastern Kentucky and Murray State. In the process, she became the first freshman in league history to take tournament MVP honors.

APSU Athlete of the Week Kyran MooreAPSU Sports Information
Moore was named STATS FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against FBS No. 17 UCF, which included a 91-yard kick return for a score in the second quarter. The Bessemer, Alabama native also hauled in five catches for 130 yards and a touchdown, accumulating a 2017 Division I-best 363 all-purpose yards on the day.

APSU Athlete of the Week Devin StuartAPSU Sports Information
The Kingsport, Tennessee native put fourth-ranked Jacksonville State on their heels time and again last weekend, reversing field on one of the Ohio Valley Conference’s most potent on multiple occasions. On seven attempts, he averaged 48.3 yards per punt—best in the Ohio Valley Conference this season and second-highest in program history—including three 50-yard boots and two inside the Gamecock 20-yard line.
