Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada – The Nashville Predators pick up a big road win against division rivals, the Winnipeg Jets, 1-0. Kyle Turris scored the only goal of the game for the Nashville victory.
Juuse Saros picks up the shut-out win for the Predators, stopping all 28 shots on goal.
Nashville picked up their second straight win under new head coach John Hynes and are playing with some new enthusiasm as they try to claw their way back into the playoff race. Currently, the Predators are just outside the wild card picture behind these very Jets.
Anaheim, CA – The Nashville Predators managed to secure a point, but lost tonight’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, 5-4. Nashville picked up three out of four possible points on this “back-to-back” series against the L.A. Kings and Ducks.
The Predators survived an Anaheim onslaught in the first period managing to end the period with a 1-1 tie.
It was not a good period of hockey for the Predators but after Adam Henrique put Anaheim up 1-0, Austin Watson managed to bring Nashville even with a tip-in at 19:11 of the first period.
Pittsburgh, PA – The Nashville Predators dropped the second game of a two game series with the Pittsburgh Penguins, 6-4, after a controversial late game penalty against the Predators.
Nashville had dug themselves out of an early deficit to tie the game at 4-4, but with less than two minutes remaining, Austin Watson was called for goalie interference after being knocked into Pittsburgh goaltender Matt Murray.
The ensuing power play was all the Penguins needed to seal the game as Jake Guentzel stuffed the winning goal past Pekka Rinne. An empty netter by Bryan Rust gave us the final score, 6-4.
Nashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators fell to the Dallas Stars tonight at Bridgestone Arena in an all too familiar fashion. Lack of scoring and goal tending. If this is any indication of what the upcoming Winter Classic will be like, then Nashville has a lot of work to do before the New Year’s day event.
Once again, the Predators outshot their opponent, only to fall short in scoring goals. Nashville fired 38 shots on goal to just 22 for the Stars. Pekka Rinne continues to struggle in net, giving up all four goals tonight.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators won a hard fought battle with their hated rivals, the San Jose Sharks, at Bridgestone Arena, 3-1. The game was peppered with multiple penalties on both teams, and an epic performance in goal from Juuse Saros for the Predators.
These two teams absolutely don’t like each other and it showed tonight. Nashville’s Austin Watson and San Jose’s Evander Kane both received game misconduct penalties for altercations during the second period.
Nashville was called for 39 minutes of penalty time while San Jose spent 33 minutes in the penalty box.
Sunrise, FL – The Nashville Predators fell to the Florida Panthers in the second game of a back-to-back series 3-0, unable to score on Panthers goalie Chris Driedger who was playing in his first NHL game.
Driedger played like a seasoned veteran, stonewalling the Predators on all 27 shots he faced in the contest.
Nashville had some momentum coming into this game after last night’s shutout victory over the Carolina Hurricanes, but couldn’t break through on the scoreboard.
Raleigh, NC – The Nashville Predators shut-out the Carolina Hurricanes tonight 3-0, behind the goal tending of Pekka Rinne who returned to net after an eight day lay-off.
After being pulled from three of his last four starts, Rinne showed championship form tonight and produced the shut-out for Nashville who recovered from a devastating loss on Wednesday night to Las Vegas.
The Predators withstood an onslaught from the Hurricanes early in this contest and it was Rinne who stood firm in net to keep Carolina from taking the early advantage.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators held a three goal lead after two periods of play, only to fall in overtime to the Calgary Flames, 6-5 in Nashville. It was a stunned Smashville crowd that headed for the exits when Mathew Tkachuk slipped the game winner past Pekka Rinne as the buzzer sounded to end the extra period.
The Predators were in full command of this one right from the start. Nick Bonino continued his scoring onslaught as he gave Nashville the early 1-0 lead, just 5:33 into the opening period. The Bonino backhand slipped past David Rittich and that gave Bonino four goals in his last four shots, including the hat trick on Tuesday night against the Blackhawks.
Nashville, Tn — The reigning Western Conference Champion Nashville Predators had to dig themselves out of a two goal deficit tonight to defeat the Minnesota Wild, 5-2. In the much anticipated home opener, featuring more firepower in the line-up, Preds fans were feeling the excitement at puck drop.
Of course, it didn’t hurt when Keith Urban performed during the first intermission, keeping the Smashville faithful on their feet until the start of the second period.
Dallas, TX – The Nashville Predators lost to the Dallas Stars tonight to end their season, 2-1. The pivotal game six was a must win situation for Nashville to force a game seven in the Music City on Wednesday night.
It was not to be. Nashville lost the last three games in a row to end the season on a thud. Dallas now advances to play the St. Louis Blues.
The Predators got off to a good start, scoring the first goal of the game at 5:47 of the opening period when Austin Watson found a rebound in front of the Dallas net to give Nashville the early 1-0 lead.
