Nashville Predators defeat Dallas Stars 2-1 to even playoff series

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators evened their playoff series against the Dallas Stars tonight with an exciting, overtime win, 2-1.  Craig Smith drove the dagger in the heart of the Stars with his overtime winner.

Dallas won the series opener on Wednesday night, 3-2, to set the tone for a hard fought series between two teams that absolutely do not like each other.

These are also the two teams that will be featured in the upcoming Winter Classic at the Cotton Bowl on New Years Eve.

My Two Cents: The Nashville Predators race to a photo finish

My Two-Cents with Hank BonecutterClarksville, TN – The National Hockey League is racing to the finish line of their regular season schedule.  The “second” season begins next week with the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Nashville Predators have a spot in those playoffs, yet as of this writing, we don’t know who or where they will play.  It doesn’t matter, because Predators fans are RABID about their team even though their play of late hasn’t been too consistent.

Nashville Predators fall to the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1 in a Bridgestone Arena shoot-out, with Sidney Crosby proving to be the difference.

The Predators were pedaling uphill all night long chasing the game after a whirlwind start where they attacked the Pens in the opening frame of the contest.  Once again, the story of their season so far, they have no power play.

The two teams traded punches during the first period with plenty of opportunities for both teams, but both Pekka Rinne and Matt Murray stood tall in net for their respective teams to keep the game scoreless.

Nashville Predators fall to the Carolina Hurricanes 5-3

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators just can’t seem to find a way to fight their way through the hurricane. The Carolina Hurricanes.  They’ve now lost 10 of 13 meetings against the team, losing at home tonight, 5-3.

With some momentum coming from back to back wins against the Minnesota Wild, the Predators had confidence heading into tonight’s contest, but the news that Filip Forsberg would not be in the line-up may have deflated that confidence.

Forsberg is listed day to day with an upper body issue and the timeline for his return has not been determined.

Nashville Predators defeat the Minnesota Wild in another shootout victory 5-4

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN -The Nashville Predators had an old fashioned street brawl tonight against some former teammates and the rest of the Minnesota Wild, but in the end, they stood victorious with the 5-4 win.

Former Predator Kevin Fiala, who was briefly honored during the first period of tonight’s game, quickly became the villain after scoring two goals on the night.  But the Smashville “love” quickly became boos when he got caught up in some fisticuffs with former teammate Filip Forsberg and Ryan Johansen.
