Nashville Sounds play Four Game home series against New Orleans Baby Cakes beginning Thursday

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club comes home to First Tennessee Park on Thursday, July 11th, 2019 to begin a four-game homestand.

The Sounds begin the unofficial second half of the season against the New Orleans Baby Cakes from July 11th-14th.

Homestand highlights include Friday night fireworks and Sunday Family Fun Day.

Clarksville’s Christmas on the Cumberland opens to the delight of young and old alike

 

Christmas on the CumberlandClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville held the grand opening of Christmas on the Cumberland Tuesday night, November 25th at McGregor Park. Hundreds gathered on the bank of the Cumberland River to listen singing and to see the lights come on along the riverwalk.

There was even a visit from you know who.

Clarksville Academy Football Falls to Nashville Christian

Clarksville Academy CougarsClarksville, TN – For the past two seasons Coach Todd Hood’s Clarksville Academy Cougars have ruled District 10-A.  Friday night at Simpson Field, Nashville Christian took over the reign of the District with a convincing 38-14 win.

In the first half the Academy stood toe to toe with the number 4 ranked team in the state of Tennessee in class A.  Both offenses were slow to get moving in the first quarter.

26th Annual Southern Women’s Show coming to the Nashville Convention Center

 

Nashville, TNSouthern Women's ShowThe 26th annual Southern Women’s Show is coming to the Nashville Convention Center in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee on April 12th – 15th. The Southern Women’s show is the place where women can shop for beautiful jewelry and hip handbags, watch fabulous fashion shows, attend cooking demonstrations and sample gourmet foods, treat themselves to makeovers, and meet celebrity guests!

The signature exhibit at this year’s show is Diana, The People’s Princess, an exhibition of the life of a royal icon. This 3,000 square foot exhibit honors one of the most influential women in recent history through photographs, video and a selection of her royal dresses. Walk through this moving retrospective of her life, and learn about her childhood, engagement, wedding, humanitarian works and untimely death. “We are excited and honored to bring this museum quality exhibit to the people of Nashville!” said Stacy Abernethy, the Executive Show Manager for the Southern Women’s Show.

Former WSMV News Anchor to be honored

Nashville, TN – One of Tennessee’s most popular news anchors, Dan Miller, is being honored posthumously, November 6th, with a star on the Country Music Walk of Fame.  Miller was co-anchor of the WSMV Channel 4 News with Demetria Kalodimos when he died of a heart attack while attending the Masters Golf Tournament in 2009.

Miller first came to  Channel 4 in 1969.  After spending 16 years as primary news anchor and seven years hosting the popular “Miller & Company” talk show, Dan left in 1986 to be principal anchor at KCBS in Los Angeles.  Dan worked with Tom Snyder and his friend and former Nashville weatherman, Pat Sajak before returning to Nashville in 1992. «Read the rest of this article»
