Nashville Sounds fall to Indianapolis Indians at First Tennessee Park, 7-4

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds comeback attempt came up short as they fell 7-4 to the Indianapolis Indians Sunday afternoon in front of 8,357 fans at First Horizon Park. The Sounds and Indians split the six-game set.

Indianapolis jumped on Nashville starter Zack Godley and took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a lead-off home run from Anthony Alford and a sacrifice fly from Kevin Kramer.

Troy Stokes Jr. roped his second home run of the year in the fourth to give Indianapolis a 3-0 advantage. The Indians continued to add to their lead with a three-run fifth inning on an RBI-single from Will Craig and a two-RBI single from Christian Bethancourt.

Nashville Sounds falter against Indianapolis Indians at home, 8-1

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The offense for the Nashville Sounds went quiet in an 8-1 loss to the Indianapolis Indians in front of a sellout crowd of 10,139 fans at First Horizon Park Saturday night.

One night after scoring 14 runs in a blowout win, the Sounds were limited to just one run on six hits in only their fifth home loss of the season.

Indians starter Max Kranick held Nashville to one hit over five shutout innings. Cooper Hummel’s two-out single in the second was the only hit Kranick allowed in his first win of the season.

Nashville Sounds blast Charlotte Knights 15-4, win Franchise Record 15th Straight Game

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds tied a franchise record as they won their 15th straight game with a 15-4 victory over the Charlotte Knights Thursday night at Truist Field. The Sounds have won 15 consecutive games for the first time since July 29th-August 14th, 2018. Additionally, Nashville set a franchise record with 14 walks and set a season-high with 15 runs scored.

Nashville jumped on Charlotte starter Félix Paulino in the second inning scoring four runs. After three consecutive walks, Jake Hager grounded out to bring home a run and Dylan Cozens followed it up scoring two with a bases-clearing triple. Cozens came in to score on a wild pitch to give the Sounds a 4-0 advantage.

Nashville Sounds take down Charlotte Knights 7-4 for 14th Straight Win

 

Nashville SoundsCharlotte, NC – The Nashville Sounds’ winning streak reached 14 on Wednesday night with a 7-4 victory over the Charlotte Knights at Truist Field. Zack Godley dominated for seven innings, and Pablo Reyes and Weston Wilson each homered, putting the Sounds one win away from tying a franchise record for most consecutive wins.

Their 20-5 record remains the best in minor league baseball and the best start to a season in team history through 25 games.

Godley allowed only one hit in seven innings, and it came on his first batter of the game.

Nashville Sounds beat Charlotte Knights 6-4, get 13th Straight Win

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds got a solid outing from Blaine Hardy and home runs from Dustin Peterson, Weston Wilson, and Cooper Hummel in a 6-4 win over the Charlotte Knights at Truist Field on Tuesday night. The win for Nashville was the club’s 13th consecutive win.

Coming off back-to-back six-game sweeps of Gwinnett and Columbus, the Sounds opened the six-game set in Charlotte with a first-inning run. Pablo Reyes doubled to the left-field corner on the first pitch of the game and came around to score on Dustin Peterson’s sacrifice fly.

Nashville Sounds get 9-3 victory over Columbus Clippers for 12th Straight Win

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds completed the sweep with a 9-3 win over the Columbus Clippers Sunday afternoon at Huntington Park. Nashville has won 12 straight games and completed their second consecutive six-game sweep.

Nashville jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI-double from Dylan Cozens and a two-RBI single from Christian Kelley. In the bottom half, Tyler Krieger cut the Nashville lead to 3-2 with a two-run homer for Columbus.
