Marsha Blackburn, Ed Markey, Lamar Alexander Introduce Legislation to Secure Stadiums During Events

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Ed Markey (D-Mass.), members of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, and Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) introduced the Stadiums Operating under New Guidance (SONG) Act, which gives the Federal Aviation Administration the authority to issue Temporary Flight Restrictions for concerts and other events held at stadiums across the country.

“Whether Tennesseans are going to a concert or a UT Vols football game, they should be able to enjoy the fun without worrying about unsafe skies,” said Senator Blackburn.

Marsha Blackburn Report: Holding Turkey Accountable For Its Atrocities

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – Protecting our Kurdish partners is a priority. Turkey must be held accountable for its destabilization of northern Syria, and ISIS must not be allowed to resurge. 

While I am encouraged that the lines of communication are open, this five-day pause in hostilities does not make up for the lives lost, families displaced, and homes destroyed by the Turkish incursion. Not only are we abandoning our Kurdish partners, but Putin is exploiting our withdrawal. We must not cede power to Moscow.

Two Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Teachers will be honored at CMA Foundation Music Teachers of Excellence Awards

Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) says the CMA Foundation, the national music education nonprofit and the philanthropic arm of the Country Music Association, will host its fourth annual Music Teachers of Excellence Awards on April 30th, 2019.

Clarksville High School band teacher Robin Johnston and Barksdale Elementary School music teacher Denise Rives are among the honorees.
