Billy Dunlop Park will be closed to the public July 10th-15th for Girl Scouts Day Camp and July 16th-22nd for Boy Scouts Day Camp.

Clarksville Senior Olympics start May 4th

Clarksville Senior Olymipics 2011Clarksville, TN –Senior adults ages 50 and up can register now until May 2nd for the 2011 Clarksville Senior Olympics. This year’s events will be May 4th-7th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, Kleeman Community Center, The Pinnacle Bowling Center, and Burt-Cobb Community Center.

 Seniors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and billiards. Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center to Open April 9th

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville is excited to unveil its newest addition, the Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center. The park and related facilities, located at 120 Duncan Street, will open to the public on April 9th with activities planned the entire weekend in celebration of the Grand Opening.

Walker Street Water Outage

 

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – A Gas and Water construction crew turned off water service at 9:00am this morning on Walker Street to replace an eight-inch water valve. Service will be disrupted on Walker from New Providence Boulevard to Duncan Street and on B Street from Walker to Locust Street. B Street will also be closed to through traffic from Locust to Walker.

Work is expected to be complete and the street reopened at 1:00pm.  Motorists will be detoured to Locust and B streets.

Streetlight Replacement Project Gets Underway – Drivers Beware

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has contracted Stones River Electric to replace 360 streetlight fixtures with LED streetlight fixtures as part of a Federal Department of Energy Grant to the city. 

The project is currently scheduled to begin Monday September 27th and be complete by Friday October 15th.  The schedule may be lengthened due to weather or other factors. «Read the rest of this article»
