Clarksville Parks & Recreation and TWRA’s Youth Fishing Rodeo set for Saturday, June 11th

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRAClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) will be hold the annual Youth Fishing Rodeo this Saturday, June 11th, 2016.

The fishing rodeo will be held at the Liberty Park pond from 7:00am to 9:00am. Hot Dogs and Drinks will be available.

Participants can pick up a form to pre-register at Walmart or Grandpa’s Outdoors prior to the event.

TWRA and Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Youth Fishing Rodeo to be held this Saturday, June 6th

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRAClarksville, TN – On Saturday, June 6th, 2015, from 7:30am until 9:30am, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) and the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be holding the annual Youth Fishing Rodeo at the Liberty Park pond.

The event coincides with Tennessee’s annual Free Fishing Day is Saturday, June 7th when anyone may fish free without a license in the state’s public waters.

Clarksville’s Youth Fishing Rodeo will be held Saturday at the Liberty Park Pond

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Tennessee’s annual Free Fishing Day is Saturday, June 8th when anyone may fish free without a license in the state’s public waters.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency provides the free day in hopes of increasing interest in fishing. The day allows anyone the opportunity to try this great outdoor sport, especially children. In addition, children ages 13-15 may fish without a license beginning on Free Fishing Day through the following Friday, June 14th.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency names 2011 Boating Officers of the Year

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Pam McDonald has been named the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency 2011 Boating Officer of the Year while Allen Herald is the Part-Time Boating Officer of the Year for the second time in as many years.

The winners of the two awards were announced by Darren Rider, TWRA Boating and Law Enforcement Division Chief. The officers were presented their awards at the April meeting of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission.

Tennessee State Parks announce Middle Tennessee Events starting June 11th

 

Tennessee – Make a splash at one of Tennessee State Parks 19 public pools this summer, which are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day – the perfect way to beat the heat!  Not only are our Olympic-sized pools a great summertime treat, they also are a great family value – with a small admission fee for day guests and half-price fees for most cabin, inn or camping guests.

Finding a state park in your own backyard is easy to do and you don’t have to spend a lot of gas money to get there!

Tennessee State Parks offer a variety of activities and events throughout the winter. From great hikes to bluegrass – there’s something designed for the entire family!

Whirlwind of activity for city youth

 

The Eighth Annual TWRA and City of Clarksville Youth Fishing Rodeo will be held at the Fairgrounds Park pond on Saturday, June 7. This event is free and open to the public, and does not require a fishing license. Pre-registration forms are available at most sporting goods stores in the area. Registration starts at 7:15 a.m. The pond gets crowded quick so come early to claim your spot. The first round of fishing starts at 8:00 a.m. and lasts until 9:00 a.m. for ages 9 and under. Ages 10 to 16 get to fish from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Summer Youth Program begins June 9 with the opening of gymnasiums and the program ends on July 17. The Summer Youth Program is a fun day-camp offered to children ages 6-16 for six weeks each summer. Gyms are staffed with Directors and Assistants five days a week starting June 9 through July 17 to offer leadership and assistance in play activities and free lessons in dance and karate. «Read the rest of this article»
