Lifeliners host Asian American Pacific Islander observance at Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers throughout the installation gathered at Wilson Theater, here, May 31st, to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month hosted by 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Sustainment Brigade.

The observance featured martial arts performances by the Harris Holt Martial Arts Academy, culture performances by Hui Hawaii O Tenesi Hawaiian Civic Club Dance Group, the Samoan Congregation of Fort Campbell, and the 101st Screaming Eagle Dance Group, as well as Asian and Pacific Islander food samples provided by the Austin Peay State University Culinary Team.

Montgomery County Government selects Christi Holt as Community Corrections Program Manager

 

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Mayor’s Office is pleased to announce that Christi Holt has been selected as the new Community Corrections Program Manager.

Christi has been with Montgomery County Government for over 20 years, serving in such roles as case officer for Community Corrections, school resource officer for the Sheriff’s Office and most recently as a probation officer with the Juvenile Department.

Rivers and Spires Festival wraps up today with Activities, Music Galore

 

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The 11th annual Rivers and Spires Festival concludes today in Historic Downtown Clarksville. The event gets started at 10:00am with food vendors, arts and crafts, and kids’ activities. The Children’s Parade with start at 1:00pm.

There will be acts and music going on five separate stages all day and into the night. And one of the best things about Rivers and Spires, is that it’s free and open to the public.

Rivers and Spires Festival Celebrates 10th Anniversary with a Bang

 

Rivers and Spires Festiveal 2012 - 10 yearsClarksville, TN – The final day of the 2012 Rivers and Spires Festival on Saturday opened with unseasonably cooler weather to the point of being really chilly.  Warm coats, hats, and/or gloves were the order of the day.  Turnout started out slow, and might have been a little bit depressed over all from previous years as a result, but the people who did come out had a really great time!

Arriving around 11:00am, I found dribs and drabs of people mostly scattered around the various stages. As the morning progressed the numbers steadily increased. As usual there will be tons of free concerts, entertainment and activities. But, because it is our birthday, and we think a big one, the Festival has a few surprises up its sleeve, but you’ll have to come out and see!

If you’ve never been to the Rivers & Spires Festival or are new to town, put it on your calendar and get ready to have a great time. Lined with craft and food vendors, six music stages, kids’ activities and artisan booths, Historic Downtown transforms each year as the festival goes into full swing. Music is a big part of the event, with at least two artists on one of the many stages at any given time. But it doesn’t stop at just music.
