Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has sworn in their newest deputy.
Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson administered the Oath of Office to K-9 Deputy Roscoe Wednesday afternoon, August 14th, 2019. Afterwards he signed the Oath with his paw.
“We are proud and excited to bring Roscoe into our MCSO family. Given the current demand on our K9 Unit, I have no doubt he will be a great asset to our agency and community,” said Sheriff Fuson.

Clarksville, TN – A joint effort between officers and agents from the Clarksville Police Department and a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office K9 officer resulted in the seizure of almost 100 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana oil and $2,000 in cash.
Four men stopped in Clarksville for an overnight stay on their way to Florida, Thursday, September 27th, 2018 around 7:00pm, Clarksville Police Officers received a call from a business at the 600 block of Kennedy Lane about the odor of marijuana coming from one of the rooms.
Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) would like to congratulate K9 Merlin and his handler Agent Chris Bedell on their recognition from the United States Police Canine Association.
Merlin and Bedell were awarded the Excellence Award for Third Quarter 2016 and the Excellence Award for Fourth Quarter 2016.
They received the award for their tireless efforts in search and seizure of narcotics and illegal currency for the 19th Judicial Drug Task Force.
Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies (MCSO) aided by the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) and Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) apprehended a dangerous felon early Friday morning.
Anthony Atkins, 28, had warrants on file from an incident that occurred earlier this month when he allegedly kidnapped his girlfriend by gunpoint and threatened to torture and kill her.
An anonymous tip led deputies to Atkins location at a home in the 1500 block of Briar Hill Road. He attempted to evade apprehension by jumping from a rear bedroom window and running on foot to a nearby wooded area.
Clarksville, TN – At 12:10pm Jose Luis Garcia was apprehended in the Montgomery County Courthouse after he left his designated holding area at 10:45am.
Garcia’s brief hiatus contained him to the lower level of the courthouse the entire time. The design of the building does not allow for an inmate to escape the confines of the building, especially the lower level of the courthouse.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports Nonviolent inmate Christopher Poore walks off work detail
Clarksville, TN – A nonviolent inmate has walked off of a work detail in the Woodlawn, TN area, west of Purple Heart Parkway.
Deputies are currently searching the area of Highway 79/Dover Road between Lylewood Road and Lake Road.
Christopher Alan Poore, 21, is a white male, 6’0, 135 lbs with short blonde hair and brown eyes. Poore is a nonviolent offender. He is serving time for theft of property and criminal trespass.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Teamwork leads to immediate recovery of stolen items, discovery of child abuse
Montgomery County, TN – Teamwork between Montgomery County Sheriff’s patrol, criminal investigations and K9 units early this morning led to the immediate recovery of stolen property from an aggravated burglary and the discovery of child abuse.
Just after midnight, Deputy Shanna Grice responded to a call on Kay Road where the victim said he had possibly noticed his neighbor, Richard Allen, 32, run from his back yard. Deputies noticed that the home, two garden sheds and a vehicle had been burglarized.
Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office K9 Deputy Chris Bedell and K9 Merlin received the USPCA Criminalistic Excellence Award Case of the Quarter last quarter.
They were chosen out of the entire USPCA Region 13.
Bedell stopped a vehicle for speeding and failure to maintain lane and used K9 Merlin to sniff the vehicle.
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday January, 24th 2015, the Clarksville Police Department responded to a stabbing that occurred at the China King Buffet Grill.
After the manager at the restaurant had determined that a customer, attempting to pay for four dinners, used a counterfeit $50.00 bill, the customer ran out of the restaurant along with three other individuals.
