Clarksville Police Department swears in Sixteen New Officers

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan administered the oath of office to sixteen new Clarksville Police Department officers at the Liberty Park Freedom Point Facility on Tuesday, November 20th, 2018.

The room was filled to capacity with family, friends, and well-wishers. The new officers will be trained in-house at the Police Department until they begin the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy on January 6th, 2019 and graduate March 29th, 2019.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation invites Community to February 20th Meeting.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The success of Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s BCycle bike-sharing program has inspired interest in creating an organization to promote a more bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly community.

Like-minded local residents, businesses, clubs and agencies are invited to meet at 6:00pm February 20th, 2018 at Liberty Park’s Freedom Point to discuss forming a bicycle and pedestrian advocacy group.

Clarksville Riverside Drive Riverbank Stabilization Project completed ahead of schedule

U.S. Army Corps of EngineersClarksville, TN – The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District and the city of Clarksville celebrated the completion of the Riverside Drive Stream Bank Stabilization Project during a ceremony at Freedom Point in Liberty Park.

Lt. Col. Stephen Murphy, Nashville District commander, Corps employees, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillian, city officials, and representatives from the project contractor, Choctaw Transportation, Inc., from Dyersburg, Tennessee, gathered to commemorate the project, which work crews completed three months early.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Rally on the Cumberland Canoe and Kayak Race registration continues

 

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Rally on the Cumberland is back for its third year and registration is underway!

The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will host the Canoe and Kayak Race on July 11th at Liberty Park, however participants must register by July 1st to participate.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation now taking registrations for Youth Basketball League

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Is your child interested in playing basketball this winter? Clarksville Parks and Recreation is proud to offer a Youth Basketball League for boys and girls ages 7 to 15.

The cost is $65.00 per player. Each player will receive a jersey, water bottle and award.

APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative ArtsClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts & Heritage Council is partnering with the Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, the APSU President’s Office and the Tennessee Arts Commission to once again bring acclaimed authors and poets to town for the Ninth Annual Clarksville Writers Conference.
