National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution hold Awards Dinner

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – On Thursday, August 8th, 2019, the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR) held their annual Public Service Award.

This year’s award recipients were Lieutenant Cliff Smith from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Paramedic Russell “Andy” Merritt from the Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services, and District Assistant Chief Shaun Arms from the Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service.

Southside Homeowners May Experience Reduced Insurance Rates Beginning in April

 

New ISO Rating Expected to Reduce Insurance Rates

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Homeowners in the Southside area of Montgomery County who live near the newly built Cunningham Volunteer Fire Rescue substation have a new reason to celebrate the addition of the station, which opened in October 2017.

Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service recently went through the recertification process with Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO). The ISO program provides the criteria for the Fire Suppression Rating Schedule.

ISO scores range between Protection Class 1, being the best evaluation, to Protection Class 10 as the lowest.

Members of Cunningham Volunteer Fire Rescue, Fire Protection Committee, County Commissioners, Sheriff John Fuson, and community members attended the ribbon cutting. Mayor Durrett was unable to attend because of a budget committee meeting.

Clarksville Civitan Club honored local Heroes at Public Safety Awards Luncheon

 

Clarksville CivitanClarksville, TN – Local heroes were honored by the Clarksville Civitan Club at their Public Safety Awards Luncheon on Wednesday.

The annual event recognizes heroic first responders who went above and beyond to save lives, rescue residents from fires, capture dangerous criminals, and provide medical services under difficult and traumatic circumstances.

The honorees work for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the Clarksville Police Department (CPD), the Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services (MCEMS), the Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service (MCVFS), and Clarksville Fire Rescue (CFR).

Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service receives Grant from Firehouse Subs

 

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service is pleased to announce the receipt of a $13,891 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The grant funds will be used to purchase an inflatable boat with a jet driven motor for the Montgomery County Rescue Squad.

Montgomery County Health Department and Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services to hold Full Scale Training Infectious Disease Exercise Tomorrow

 

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Health Department and Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services (MCEMS) are partnering with numerous local agencies to hold a full scale infectious disease training exercise on Wednesday, October 29th.

Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department 25th Anniversary Party to be held Saturday, June 8th

 

Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service - TNWoodlawn, TN – The Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department will hold their 25th Anniversary Party Saturday, June 8th. The party is from 10:00am until 2:00pm at the station house. There will be equipment displays, fire trucks, inflatables and refreshments. Everyone is invited.

The Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Department station house is located at 2274 Woodlawn Road right next to Woodlawn Elementary School.

Annual Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service Awards

 

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – The annual Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service Awards Dinner was held Friday, November 2nd at the William O. Beach Civic Hall.

Congratulations to the award recipients: Liza Kurt, Rescue Squad; Jason Smith, Palmyra station; Shaun Arms, Cunningham station; Thomas Higgins, St. Bethlehem station; Jamie Sensing, East Montgomery station; and John Bateman, Woodlawn station, for all being selected as Firefighters of the Year for their respective stations.

Shaun Arms was given the high honor of being selected as the Overall Firefighter of the Year for 2012. Shaun has been a volunteer firefighter since 2006 and currently serves with the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Service.

Volunteer Fire Service Awards Banquet

 

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – The annual Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service Awards Dinner was held Friday, December 9th at the Montgomery County Civic Hall. Congratulations to the award recipients: Stephanie Geewax, Rescue Squad; Jeff Davidson, Palmyra station; Wade Kunstmann, Cunningham station; Charles “Chip” Nichols-Redman, St. Bethlehem station; Derrick Wilson, East Montgomery station; and Joshus Banker, Woodlawn station, for all being selected as Firefighters of the Year for their respective stations.

Jeff Davidson was given the high honor of being selected as the Overall Firefighter of the Year for 2011. Jeff has been a volunteer firefighter since 1990 and currently serves with the Palmyra Volunteer Fire Service.

Man Displaced from home in Webb Road Fire

 

Clarksville, TN – In the midst of all the calls about downed trees and power lines on May 26th an urgent call came into the Clarksville-Montgomery County E911 offices about a fire on Webb Road. Emergency crews from the St Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Service were quickly dispatched.

When the first firefighters arrived on scene they found a house trailer and two vehicles parked nearby burning with flames perilously close to a large natural gas tank.
