AAA says Record Number of Holiday Motorists Expected Across the Country this Week

Tennessee sees 2 cent increase in Gas Prices

AAATampa, FL – More than 100 million Americans are taking to the roadways to travel for the holidays, but that hasn’t had a large impact on gas prices. At the start of the work week, only about a dozen states are seeing more expensive gas prices with increases of less than a dime.

“AAA forecasts that 104 million Americans will travel by car – the most on record – for a year-end holiday,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.

AAA says most Thanksgiving Holiday Travelers will see Cheaper Gas Prices this year

AAATampa, FL – AAA says for the 49 million Americans hitting the road for the Thanksgiving holiday, they will find gas prices mostly similar, if not cheaper, than last year’s holiday. Today’s national average is $2.59. That is just a few cents over the 2018 holiday weekend average of $2.57.

“During Thanksgiving week last year we saw the national gas price average decrease a nickel between Monday and Thursday, that could be the case again this year,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.

Dodging the Roadkill: Tragedy

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyClarksville, TN – The motorcycle community is reeling this weekend after the news of a horrific accident that killed seven bikers in Randolph, New Hampshire.  The victims were members of the Jarheads Motorcycle Club which is comprised of former and active duty U.S. Marines.

Witnesses and First Responders said it was one of the most devastating accident scenes they had ever seen.  I’m not going to recount the details of the accident, as you can read all about it here.

When I first read the story, my heart just sank.  My emotions went from anger to sadness in a matter of minutes.  I think we all felt the same way, as we once again were reminded of the dangers of this lifestyle that we love so much.

AAA says Gas Prices drop Seven Cents at the Pump

AAATampa, FL – AAA says that today’s national average is $2.74, which is seven-cents cheaper than last week, 13-cents less than a month ago and 18 cents cheaper than a year ago. Nearly every state’s gas price average is cheaper than a week ago, a month ago and a year ago.

“Refinery utilization in the United States is at its highest level since early January, resulting in overall gasoline stocks at healthy levels to meet robust summer demand. Prices are dropping due to cheaper crude oil and at the same time U.S. supply is keeping pace with demand,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.

AAA reports United States Gas Price Averages Inching Up Amid Rising Demand

AAA

AAATampa, FL – Many motorists filling up across the country are noticing gas prices that are increasing slightly. While nearly 25 states’ averages increased on the week, the national average is only a penny more than a week ago at $2.26.

The fluctuating national and state gas price averages come alongside an increase in gasoline demand and reflect the higher crude oil prices as of late, but it’s likely not to be a long-term trend.
