Nashville Predators defeat the Philadelphia Flyers behind Juuse Saros shutout 4-0

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators dominated the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at Bridgestone Arena behind the shutout performance of Juuse Saros in goal, 4-0.

This was the second shutout of the season for Saros and was only his second start in two weeks.  Saros stopped all 32 shots on goal tonight and was named the first star of the game.

The two teams played a back and forth first period with no scoring before the intermission.  That all changed in the second period.

Nashville Predators defeat the Washington Capitals 6-3

Nashville PredatorsWashington, D.C. – The Nashville Predators finally broke through with a win today, defeating the reigning Stanley Cup Champion, Washington Capitals, 6-3.

The Predators had been on a bit of a slide, losing their last six games, and the victory today could be a sign of better things to come.

With their mothers in attendance, the Predators had an extra dose of motivation coming into today’s game.

Washington got off to a quick start when Michal Kempny took the face off and whipped a wrist shot past Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne for the early 1-0 lead.  The score came at the 4:33 mark of the opening frame.

Nashville Predators fall to the New York Rangers 4-3

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The struggling Nashville Predators just can’t seem to find a way to win, falling tonight to the visiting New York Rangers, 4-3.

It was a back and forth affair with both teams trading punches and the lead throughout the game, but in the end, the Rangers, and their premier goalie, Henrik Lundqvist, leave Nashville with the win.

Mika Zibanejad started the scoring for New York at 2:42 of the opening frame on a tip in that beat Pekka Rinne for the early 1-0 lead.

Nashville Predators fall to the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1

Nashville PredatorsPhiladelphia, PA – The road woes continue for the Nashville Predators as they drop another road game to the Philadelphia Flyers tonight, 2-1.  Claude Giroux had the game winner for the Flyers who will be in Nashville on New Year’s Day.

The Predators continue to be hit by the injury bug as Colton Sissons was out of the line-up tonight after being helped off of the ice on Tuesday night against Chicago.

Filip Forsberg, Viktor Arvidsson, and P.K Subban have been on the injury list for several weeks, and their absence is beginning to strain this Nashville team.  The Predators recalled forward Tyler Gaudet today to join the team.

Nashville Predators fall to the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1

Nashville PredatorsChicago, IL – The Nashville Predators are having a real hard time winning games on the road.  Tonight, the second game of a back-to-back series saw the Predators fall to the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1.

Nashville is still without the services of Filip Forsberg, P.K Subban, and Viktor Arvidsson due to injuries, and their absence is starting to show.  The Predators are in the midst of an intense road trip this week with visits to Philadelphia and Boston on the schedule.

Things looked good early as Kevin Fiala put Nashville on the scoreboard first with his wrist shot that beat Chicago goalie Cam Ward top shelf and the Predators took a 1-0 lead at 19:27 of the opening frame.

My Two Cents: Nashville Predators Maintain Home Winning Streak Over Colorado 4-1

My Two-Cents with Hank BonecutterNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators overcame a lackluster first period, to continue their dominance at home and their dominance over the Colorado Avalanche, with a 4-1 win at Bridgestone Arena.

This victory is the seventh in a row over the Avs, and keeps their home winning streak alive for 2017-2018.
