Montgomery County Government finishes Budget Hearings

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government has completed a major step in the budget process for the fiscal year 2021.

Regularly scheduled budget hearings have been occurring since April 16th between members of the budget committee, the accounts and budget director and assistant director, as well as department heads and elected officials who presented their budgets.

Clarksville Transit System’s Paul Nelson named Director

 

Clarksville Transit SystemClarksville, TN – Clarksville Transit System (CTS) senior manager Paul Nelson, who has served as Interim Director since July, has been selected as CTS Director, Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts announced.

“Paul has been involved in many aspects of our CTS operation for several years, and he stepped up and did a fine job as Interim Director,” Mayor Pitts said.

Montgomery County Commissioner Rashidah Leverett Initiates Effort to Clean-up Lot by Norman Smith Elementary School

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – A pool sized concrete hole next to Norman Smith Elementary School was recently turned into a safe, green, usable space. District 5 Montgomery County Commissioner Rashidah Leverett took the initiative to make calls inquiring what could be done to make changes to the area shortly after being elected in fall 2018.

Since closing the public pool next to Norman Smith Elementary in August 2015, the empty lot which once contained an active outdoor swimming pool, had fallen into disrepair and became an eyesore to the area.

Montgomery County, Clarksville Legislative Liaison Committees Present Agenda to State Representatives

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County and the City of Clarksville Legislative Liaison Committees jointly presented Clarksville and Montgomery County’s Legislative Agenda list to state representatives at a reception on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019.

This was the first time the County and City have presented their agendas together.
