American Red CrossNashville, TN – December may be the season of giving – but it’s typically a challenging time to collect enough blood donations. Add in a pandemic, and this year could be even tougher than usual.

That’s why the American Red Cross is urging those who are feeling well to give the gift of life by donating blood or platelets this holiday season.

Red Cross and Sport Clips Haircuts partner to raise awareness of childhood cancers, offer free haircut coupon to donors in September

American Red CrossNashville, TN – During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September, the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood to support kids, teens and young adults battling cancer, as well as others in need of transfusions.

The National Cancer Institute estimates that more than 15,000 children and adolescents in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer each year. Childhood cancer patients may need blood products on a regular basis during chemotherapy, surgery or treatment for complications.

American Red Cross says Need for blood doesn’t stop for holidays

National Weather Service issues Flash Flood Warning for Southern Montgomery County

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Southern Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee until 9:30pm, Saturday, February 23rd.

At 6:34pm CT, emergency management reported ongoing water rescues in northern Dickson County. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen with more on the way. Flash flooding is expected to continue.

Some locations that will experience flooding include: Dickson, Ashland City, Waverly, Erin, Coopertown, White Bluff, New Johnsonville, McEwen, Tennessee Ridge, Hurricane Mills, Pleasant View, Charlotte, Vanleer, Slayden, Cheatham Dam and Cunningham.

One half to one inch of rainfall expected across Clarksville-Montgomery county tonight.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation charges Former Dickson County Clerk Jamie Wall with Theft

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has led to the indictment of a White Bluff woman on a theft charge.

At the request of 23rd District Attorney General Ray Crouch, on March 19th, TBI Special Agents began investigating a report of theft from the Dickson County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.

During the course of the investigation, Agents learned that from 2009 through 2015, Jamie Wall, who was the bookkeeper at the time, would take payments from citizens who owed money to the county through fines or court costs.
