Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUDes Moines, IA – Austin Peay State University’s magical late-season run has taken it west and if this Cinderella story is to continue the Governors hope Wells Fargo Arena becomes their “Field”, err, “Court of Dreams,” 3:00pm, Thursday, against No. 1 Kansas in first-round NCAA Regional action, to be broadcast by TNT.

Playing in their first NCAA tournament since 2008, the Governors enter Thursday’s game amidst a six-game winning streak, their longest win streak since the 2010-11 season.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Following a first-round win on opening night, SEC Tournament play continues for Tennessee when it faces in-state rival Vanderbilt on Thursday in Nashville. Tip off from Bridgestone Arena is set for roughly 3:30pm ET/2:30pm CT on the SEC Network.

The 12th-seeded Volunteers (14-18) advanced to the second round with a rout of Auburn in the SEC Tournament opener on Wednesday. Tennessee never trailed and led by as many as 41 en route to a 97-59 victory over the Tigers. Led by 22 points from senior Armani Moore, 38-point win marked the largest margin of victory ever recorded by the Vols at the SEC Tournament.

UT Vols Basketball plays Auburn Tigers to begin SEC Tournament

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee meets Auburn for the third time this season when the two teams square off in the opening game of the SEC Tournament on Wednesday night. Televised nationally on the SEC Network, Wednesday’s tipoff is slated for 8:00pm ET/7:00pm CT from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

The 12th-seeded Volunteers (13-18, 6-12 SEC) head to the Music City looking to make it four consecutive years with an opening-round victory at the SEC Tournament. Last year, the Vols were victorious over Vanderbilt in the second round of the tournament before falling in the quarterfinals against Arkansas.

UT Lady Vols Basketball begin SEC Tournament against Arkansas Razorbacks

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The No. 7 Lady Vols (17-12, 8-8 SEC) will open up the SEC Tournament with a matchup against No. 10 Arkansas (12-17, 7-9 SEC) at Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville on Thursday at 6:00pm ET/5:00pm CT on SEC Network and available via WatchESPN.

The state of Florida and city of Jacksonville are hosting their first-ever SEC women’s tourney. This marks the 31st meeting between these schools, their third bout this season, but the very first time they have played one another in the SEC Tournament.

Tennessee enters Thursday’s game with a 75-19 (.806) all-time record in the previous 36 years of the SEC Tournament.

Playing without leading scorer Kevin Punter Jr. (22.2 ppg) for the second consecutive game, the Vols were led by 19 points from Devon Baulkman — who hit five threes along the way — and a season-best 16 points from freshman Shembari Phillips. Without the services of leading scorer Kevin Punter Jr. (22.2 ppg), Tennessee pieced together a total team effort en route to an 81-65 victory against the Tigers.

Junior Robert Hubbs III posted a team-high 19 points while senior Armani Moore recorded his second double-double in as many games with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Tipoff between the Vols and 20th-ranked Wildcats is set for 7:00pm ET/6:00pm CT and will be televised on ESPN as part of Super Tuesday.

Tennessee (10-11, 3-5 SEC) will be looking for its second win over a ranked opponent this season and its 68th win all-time against Kentucky — the most of any other collegiate program in the country. The Vols’ all-time record against the Wildcats is 67-151, a mark that includes a 47-52 record in Knoxville. Twenty-one of Tennessee’s 67 wins have come against a ranked UK squad.

UT Vols Basketball travels to Fort Worth to take on TCU Horned Frogs

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee breaks from SEC play and closes out the month of January on Saturday when it travels to Fort Worth, Texas, to face TCU in the Vols final non-conference tilt. Game time is set for 2:00pm ET/1:00pm CT on ESPN2.

Saturday’s game was scheduled as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge. It is the second straight year that the Vols have participated, having picked up a 65-64 victory over Kansas State in last year’s edition.

Tennessee (10-10, 3-5 SEC) is looking to finish its non-conference slate with an 8-5 record, including its first non-league road win of the season. The Vols dropped to .500 overall with a 63-57 setback at Alabama on Tuesday night.
