Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce Power Breakfest will feature Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President, Raphael Bostic, as keynote speaker on July 18th, 2019.
Brought to you by the Austin Peay State University College of Business, President Bostic will discuss the national economy, the Federal Reserve’s responsibilities and his observations of the varying economic realities facing people in the Sixth district. Audience Q&A will follow.
The event will be held in the Kimbrough Building Auditorium (corner of Marion Street and Henry Street) and a light breakfast will be provided.
President Bostic took office on June 5th, 2017 as the 15th president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. The Sixth district includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, the southern halves of Louisiana and Mississippi and the eastern two-thirds of Tennessee.
He is responsible for all the Bank’s activities, including monetary policy, bank supervision and regulation, and payment services. In addition, he serves on the Federal Reserve’s chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).
President Bostic was born in New York City and grew up in Delran, New Jersey. He graduated from Harvard University in 1987 with a combined major in economics and psychology. He earned his doctorate in economics from Stanford University in 1995.
