This story illustrates why our nation must not allow churches and religious institutions to be above the law.
The behavior by this church and its pastor is degrading to women, to true Christians, and to Americans in general.
Discrimination is always wrong! It doesn’t matter if it’s on based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or identification, and it should never be tolerated by any one no matter the political, social, or religious institution involved.
Mary Lambert has been a Sunday school eacher at First Baptist Church in Watertown, NY and for 11 years. She recently received a letter from the Churches Diaconate Board that basically said she was being removed because she is female…
…The letter Lambert received says, “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became sinner.”…
…The letter was signed, “Thank you for your anticipated cooperation. Very truly yours, Kendra LaBouf (the wife of Church Pastor Tim LaBouf).

The ironic thing is that the pastor could not pick up the pen, or even
so much as the signature, himself. ” Women are to be silent”..What?!?
Yet it was a woman writing the letter. Perhaps this is actually a blessing
for Mary Lambert, as she may be able to move on and away from such
a group that could easily be perceived by some as having “Cult” tendencies
and ways.
