Fort Campbell, KY– Late Sunday night friends and family gathered to welcome home 210 soldiers with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team. As the announcement was made that the plane was 15 minutes out, many went outside to watch the plane land. As soldiers deplaned there were cheers of joy and excitement from the family members as the soldiers made there way to hanger 3. SGT Jack Williams who was injured last October was one of the wounded soldiers on hand to welcome home their unit.
Liz Cochran was very excited to to see her fiancée CPT Marvin Trae Morgan III along with his mother Debra Moore, his sister Nora Lawson, niece Sydney and nephew Cole. Liz is looking forward to their wedding in November back home in Pelham, AL. Over the next few months they will be planning the details and the honeymoon, She said Belize sounds like a great place for CPT Morgan to get some well deserved time away.

Once inside the hanger Brigadier General Jeffrey N. Colt welcomed everyone home in a short speech to the soldiers. Afterwards everyone was allowed 15 minutes of family time before heading back to their unit to turn in their gear.
The next scheduled flight was set to arrive at Campbell Army Airfield just after midnight. If you wish to attend a Welcome Home Ceremony, check the flight schedules online, as times are subject to change at any time. When arriving to Fort Campbell, enter via Gate 7; if you don’t have installation stickers on your vehicle, you will be required to get a visitor pass. From there just follow the signs to the ceremony parking. Waiting buses transport the Family members safely to the hanger.
