Man Not Wearing a Seatbelt Ejected from Vehicle

Clarksville, TN – On May 11th, around 10:27am, Lynn Ray (Male), 49 was traveling north on the 101st Parkway in a 2008 BMW. Richard Miller, 23, driving a 1988 Dodge RAM Charger, was making a left turn from Ringgold Road and crossed in front of the path of oncoming BMW, attempting to go south on the 101st Parkway.

The BMW collided with the driver side of the Dodge. After impact, the door of the Dodge opened and Miller, who did not have a seat belt on, was ejected from the vehicle onto the roadway.

Lynn Ray was transported to BACH by ambulance suffering neck and shoulder pain. The 16 year old passenger in the Dodge had minor injuries, treated at the scene, and released. Richard Miller sustained head trauma, and was taken by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt. He is in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. The lead investigator is Officer Melissa Spielhagen, 931-648-0656, ext. 7098.
