APSU Sports: Austin Peay Baseball
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will venture south for its first midweek outing when it meets Alabama A&M in a 3:00pm, Tuesday contest at Bulldog Field in Huntsville, AL.

On the mound, Austin Peay will turn to senior right-hander Lucas Anderson. It will be his first start this season after making five relief appearances in the Govs’ first 10 games. He has a 1-0 record and 4.26 ERA in those outings with eight strikeouts in 6.1 innings pitched.
Alabama A&M (5-8) opened Southwestern Athletic Conference action last weekend, suffering a three-game sweep at Alabama State. Sophomore catcher Chris Thomas leads the Bulldogs with a .368 batting average. Juan Lopez leads the Alabama A&M regulars with a .244 batting average and five RBI.
Austin Peay and Alabama A&M met once last season, the Govs winning an 11-4 contest that was part of the Riverview Inn Invitational.
