Oxford, AL – Austin Peay State University men’s cross country team had a nice bounce back at Friday’s JSU Foothills Invitational. The Govs had two top-20 finishers and showed marked improvement from last week, finishing sixth as a team.

Austin Peay Governors Football’s Wesley Kitts suspended for team policy violation, will not play against Murray State

Clarksville, TN – Wesley Kitts, Austin Peay State University’s senior running back, has been suspended “for a violation of team policy.”
That was announced by Governors head coach Rick Christophel late Friday. As a result, Kitts will not play against Murray State, Saturday night. His future status will be reviewed next week.

Oxford, AL – Junior Xiamar Richards won the women’s five-kilometer event at the JSU Foothills Invitational, leading Austin Peay State University women’s cross country team to a fourth-place team finish, Friday.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department receives eight Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association awards
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department received a total of eight awards from the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association at this year’s state convention held in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library will be closed Monday, October 8th for their annual staff development and training day.
The library will be back open as usual Tuesday, October 9th at 9:00am.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksvillians are encouraged to bring their dogs to Bark in the Park tomorrow, Saturday, October 6th, 2012 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the new King’s Run Bark Park located at the new Liberty Park.
Bark in the Park, presented by Clarksville Parks and Recreation, is a fun, family-oriented event that will feature contests, demonstrations, dog-related vendors and services, and dogs, lots of dogs.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Norris Drive and Eva Drive to repair a fire hydrant. Construction crews expect the repair to be complete within 2-3 hours.
The road is open to traffic.

Miss Tennessee USA, and Miss Teen Tennessee USA pageants begins tonight at Austin Peay State University
Clarksville, TN – This weekend Clarksville, Tennessee once again plays host to the Miss Tennessee USA and Miss Teen Tennessee USA pageants. Tonight kicks off the preliminary competition with the Miss Tennessee USA pageant beginning at 6:30pm and the Miss Teen Tennessee USA pageant beginning at 8:30pm the music and mass communication building at Austin Peay State University.
The finals rounds of the pageants will be held on Saturday with Miss Tennessee Teen USA starting off at 3:30 PM, followed by the Miss Tennessee USA finals at 8:00pm.
