Clarksville, TN – Josh Ledbetter, a 6-6 frontcourt player from Shepherd (Michigan), will walk on to the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team this fall.
He had six 20-point outings during the season, including 28 points at Cheansing. He had 20 points in second-round district tourney play against Stanton Central Montcalm.
Ledbetter was a member of the Central Michigan All-Stars, an AAU team, in Summer 2011.
“Josh is a guy who had outstanding high school career, in particular, his senior season,” APSU coach Dave Loos said. “Fundamentally, he is very sound, he has a feel for the game and knows how to play. He also shoots it well with good rotation.
“I think what he will have to do here is get in the weight room and improve his core strength, make the adjustment from high school to college basketball, especially the Division I level. We look forward to having him in our program and working with him. He could be a possible redshirt candidate, but we will see how it goes before making that determination.”
