“It’s a fun tune about playing ‘hooky’ from life,” Aiken says with a grin. Co-written by Aiken and Tim Buppert (“She’s Sure Taking It Well,” “Another Nine Minutes”), the track literally sizzles with life and features scorching guitar runs by Aiken and the legendary Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites).
Campaign Aims to Save Lives on Tennessee Roadways
Nashville, TN – Law enforcement across the state will be out in force from July 18th to July 21st and from July 25th to July 28th for the final phase of the More Cops. More Stops. campaign to crack down on drivers who are speeding, drunk, distracted, or not wearing a seat belt.
Too many lives have been lost on Tennessee’s roadways as a result of basic traffic safety law violations.
Clarksville, TN – Josh Richards, who coached five seasons under Austin Peay State head coach Kirby Cannon at Missouri S&T, has been hired as the Governors wide receivers coach. Richards replaces Paul Derrick, who recently resigned his coaching position to return to the high school level.
Veteran Govs’ assistant Marcus Gildersleeve will move into Derrick’s vacated running backs coaching position with Richards assuming wide receiver coaching duties.
Woodlawn, TN – On Saturday, July 20th, Subdued Few Motorcycle Club is having a Memorial and Benefit Ride for Prescott 19. Subdued Few is riding to show their support for the brave men of the Arizona Hotshot Crew, and to raise money for the Wild Land Fire Service. Registration is from 9:00am until 11:00am.
The ride will start at Texas Casual Grill located on Trenton Road in Clarksville, TN at 11:00am and will end at Bo’s Cycle Shop. The ride will go past various fire stations on the route through Clarksville, TN, Cadiz, KY and through Hopkinsville, KY. Approximate arrival time of bikes at Bo’s Cycle shop is around 2:00pm.
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. There are programs for children and adults.

Clarksville, TN – A Clarksville Gas and Water construction crew will close approximately 500 feet of the outer eastbound lane on North Riverside Drive at the North Spring Street intersection tomorrow from 7:30am until approximately 12:30pm.
Workers will relocate a fire hydrant that will also require closing North Spring Street between North Riverside Drive and McClure Street.
The inside lane of North Riverside Drive will be open to motorists and North Spring Street traffic will be directed to McClure Street.

Clarksville, TN – Cynthia Stinnett, a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadet at Austin Peay State University, won first place in the female category during the 8th Regiment Army physical fitness test held June 29th at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
Competing against 444 of her peers, Stinnett achieved the highest women’s score with a 384.

Clarksville, TN – A Clarksville Gas and Water construction crew has turned off water service on Old Russellville Pike from Rossview Road to Stone Container Drive to repair a water main leak.
The repair work is anticipated to be complete by approximately 12:00pm when water service will be restored.
