Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam makes appointments to Higher Education Boards


Robert Fisher of Clarksville Tennessee among those Appointed

State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has announced the appointments of eight new members and five re-appointments to Tennessee’s higher education boards as well as the selection of the chair of Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) and vice chair of the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR).

Robert Fisher, Pam Koban and Keith Wilson will serve on THEC. Brad Lampley, Bonnie Lynch, Sharon Pryse and Thaddeus Wilson will serve as new members of the University of Tennessee (UT) Board of Trustees. Deanna Wallace will join TBR as a new member. APSU Governors Baseball concludes Signing Period, Add Six in Spring


Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team completed its 2014 recruiting class, adding an infielder and five pitchers in the spring signing period.

Joining the Govs in the spring signing period were right-handed pitcher Caleb DeLee, of Collierville, TN; infielder Alex Robles, of Tucson, AZ; right-handed pitcher Jake Corum, of Blaine, TN; right-handed pitcher Mark Hendrick, of Albuquerque, NM; and right-handed pitcher Shane Lantigua, of Bartlett, TN.

Tennessee Senior Olympics scheduled for September 23rd-28th


Tennessee Senior OlympicsFranklin, TN – Senior athletes of all ages and skill levels across the state are already gearing up for the 2013 Tennessee Senior Olympics district games

Area seniors ages 49 and older are invited to showcase their athletic abilities and share in some friendly competition at the Greater Nashville District Senior Olympics, scheduled for September 23rd – 28th in Franklin, Tennessee and the Golf Tournament will be held October 29th, 2013 at Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tennessee.

Clarksville Police have identified Homicide Victim found at Northwest High School Parking Lot as Daniel Reed


Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Detectives have identified the victim from this morning’s incident at 800 Lafayette Road, and the family has been notified.

The victim is Daniel Lamar Reed, Black Male, born October 18th, 1974. Clarksville Police identify Body found near Greenwood Cemetery


Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, August 13th around 6:00pm, Clarksville Police responded to a body in the woods in the Greenwood Cemetery area near Laurent Lane.

Police Detectives have identified the body as Diana Bronaugh, white female, born December 11th, 1975. At this time the investigation has found no evidence that this is homicide, but the investigation is still open.

Clarksville Police update on Homicide at Northwest High School Parking Lot


Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department wants to clarify that Police Officers responded to a Shooting Already Occurred this morning at 5:50am 800 Lafayette Road.

The Clarksville Police Department feels that this is incident is not connected to Northwest High School and that no Student or Staff was in any danger.

The investigation is on-going.

TDOT to close Section of I-440 Closed this Weekend for Concrete Repairs starting Friday, August 16th


Seventh of Ten Weekend Closures begins Friday, August 16th at 8:00pm

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will completely close I-440 eastbound from the I-65 junction in Nashville to the I-24 junction, including the on and off ramps at Nolensville Road, in order to perform concrete repairs this weekend.

I-440 Eastbound between I-65 and I-24 will be closed starting Friday, August 16th at 8:00pm through Monday, August 19th at 5:00am.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports sections of Franklin and Reynolds Streets Closed

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed Franklin Street from Hornberger Lane to Reynolds Street and Reynolds from Franklin to Vine Street to install a water service line. The roads will be closed to traffic until approximately 12:30pm.

Franklin Street traffic will be detoured to Hornberger Lane and Reynolds Street traffic will be detoured to Vine Street.
