Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s busy 22-day stretch before the Easter holiday continues with a pair of midweek contests. The Govs will host Western Kentucky in a 6:00pm, Tuesday contest before traveling to meet Memphis in a 6:30pm, Wednesday affair at USA Stadium in Millington.

The Govs offense posted 10 hits in each game of the series – and it is only the second time this season the Govs have double-digit hits in three consecutive games. Freshman infielder Logan Gray led the Govs at Tennessee Tech, batting .500 with five RBI, including a home run in Sunday’s finale.
The Govs will send senior left-hander Alex Belew to the mound in Tuesday’s contest against Western Kentucky. It will be his first start this season as he owns a 3.75 ERA in 11 relief appearances in 2014. Austin Peay will seek to split this season’s home-and-home series against Western Kentucky after dropping a 5-2 decision in Bowling Green a week ago.
Western Kentucky (18-15) used its 5-2 win against Austin Peay a week ago to start a four-game win streak that included a win against Lipscomb and the first two games of its Sun Belt series against Arkansas State. Tuesday’s contest will be the first game of a five-game road trip for the Hilltoppers. WKU left-handed pitcher Ryan Thurston (0-0, 4.50 ERA) will start Tuesday’s affair against the Govs.
Wednesday’s contest will be the only time this season Austin Peay and Memphis (18-14) will meet on the baseball field. Memphis concluded a nine-game road trip by losing an American Athletic Conference series at Louisville, 2-1. The starters for Wednesday’s contest will be announced after Tuesday’s contest for both teams.
Wednesday’s contest will be available on the Governors Sports Network with a link to the online audio stream available at www.LetsGoPeay.com .
