Clarksville Mayoral Candidate Bill Summers to present at Clarksville Civitan Meeting today

Election 2014Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Ward 10 Councilman Bill Summers will be presenting at The Clarksville Civitan Club’s weekly meeting on today, Wednesday, April 16th, at 12:15pm.

Summers’ presentation will cover the infrastructure needs of Clarksville in relation to the city’s growth. He will address topics including Clarksville’s police staffing, fire station needs, and road improvements.

Summers believes that proactive infrastructure planning is directly linked to the economic well-being of Clarksville and that the City needs to address these issues.

The Clarksville Civitan Club meeting is from 11:30am-1:00pm at The First Baptist Church at 435 Madison Street in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Summers has served as the city councilman for Ward 10 since 2007, after defeating an experienced incumbent, and won re-election in 2010 to his current second term with over 81% of the vote. He announced his campaign for the Mayor of Clarksville in November 2013.

According to their website, The Clarksville Civitan Club is a service organization that supports the community with a variety of service and fundraising projects.

Locally, they sponsor Boy Scout Troup 514 and four Junior Civitan Clubs in the Clarksville Montgomery County School System. They earned their Charter in 1922. The president of the Clarksville Civitan Club is Becky Purnell.
