APSU Governors Basketball lose at Southern Illinois Saturday night

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUCarbondale, IL – Austin Peay State University held the nation’s 10th leading scorer, Anthony Beane, to nine points, Saturday night. But that was one of the few things that went right for the Governors against Southern Illinois as the home team rolled to a 71-49 non-conference victory.

“Tennessee Season to Remember” honors Victims of Homicide

 

Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland SecurityNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam Thursday evening hosted the 12th annual “Tennessee Season to Remember” ceremony at First Baptist Church in Nashville to honor victims of homicide. Haslam was joined by several state and local public safety officials. During the ceremony, families from across Tennessee placed ornaments on memorial wreaths in honor of their loved ones.

A Lady Gov won all four races shorter than a mile, part of an excellent end to the first weekend of indoor competition that closed out the pre-Christmas portion of Austin Peay’s schedule at the MT Christmas Invitational, hosted by Middle Tennessee at the Murphy Center.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation adds Lonnie Vann of Jacksboro to Top Ten Most Wanted

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has a new addition to the state’s Top 10 Most Wanted list, Lonnie Lee Vann of Jacksboro, TN.

Vann is wanted by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for an armed robbery earlier today on Deerfield Way in Lafollette.

Vann, 44, is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He stands approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighs 275 pounds.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – No Tearra Banks, no problem for Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team against Brescia, Saturday, at the Dunn Center.

Despite not having the sophomore center due to an ankle injury, the Lady Govs rolled to a 99-63 victory against the Bearcats.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library to hold Holiday Concert by 101st Airborne Division Band

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – The 101st Airborne Division Band from Fort Campbell, KY will be performing at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library at 6:00pm on Wednesday, December 10th, 2014.

The show will feature a brass quintet, a rock band and a jazz combo for an hour-long concert.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports Hay Market Road Area Water Outage

 

Saturday, December 6th, 2014

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Hay Market Road, Cornwall Road, New Castle Road and Aberdeen Road to repair a water main leak. Area residents may also experience low water pressure during the work.

The repair is anticipated to be finished and water restored by approximately 7:30pm.

The road is passable.

Clarksville’s annual “Shop with a Cop” gives to the less fortunate

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Smiling faces, silver badges and crowded aisles were the order of the day in Clarksville, Tennessee this morning as about one hundred underprivileged children from all over the community flocked to the Sango Wal-Mart store to participate in the annual Shop With A Cop event.

The Clarksville Police Union and Two Rivers Lodge # 23 of the Fraternal Order of Police partnered again this year to co-sponsor the event. Enough money was raised to provide each child with one hundred dollars to spend for Christmas.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to close Community Centers temporarily for annual maintenance and flooring upgrades
