The Sounds jumped out to an early 3-0 lead courtesy of newcomer Matt Clark, who drove a three-run two-out double over right fielder Engel Beltre’s head to mark his first hit with the club.

Over 160 Bird Species Identified at Seven Islands State Birding Park

Tennessee State ParksKnoxville, TN – Tennessee State Parks is pleased to announce the newest addition to the parks system, Seven Islands State Birding Park. State and local officials attended the official opening of the 56th state park Tuesday in Knoxville.

Seven Islands State Birding Park offers activities including observation, hiking and a small boat launch for canoes and kayaks. The property is adjacent to the French Broad River and aquatic and riparian habitats support an impressive diversity of wildlife species. Over 160 species of birds have been identified.

Clarksville Gas and Water announces Sewer Construction Work to Begin at Rotary Park

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water will begin a gravity sewer construction project at Rotary Park on Monday, July 7th, 2014. Construction contractors will begin easement clearing on Monday followed by rock blasting the week of July 14th in preparation of the construction phase onset on July 21st.

The project is anticipated to be finished by early 2015.
